Authorities are looking for a man who kicked his way onto a PRTC bus and then sprayed the driver with an unknown substance in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—Authorities are looking for a man who kicked his way onto a PRTC bus and then sprayed the driver with an unknown substance Tuesday in the area of Minnieville Road and Prince William County Parkway, according to Prince William County Police.

He's described as black, in his 30s, 6-0, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white shirt and pants.

Around 8:15 p.m., police responded to the scene for a reported assault. The bus driver, a 55-year-old man, said while driving a Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission vehicle, he saw an unknown man running beside the bus. When the bus stopped because of traffic, the man began banging on the door and demanding it be opened.

When the driver refused, the man stood in front of the bus to prevent it from moving. He then returned to the side of the bus and kicked out a lower window on the door. That let him reach inside and open the door, after which he boarded the bus and sprayed the driver with an unknown substance.

He then got off and fled the area on foot. The driver suffered minor injuries. Police, along with a K-9 unit, searched the area but came up empty. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-792-6500.
