Road Rage Shooting Leads To Woodbridge Man's Arrest

Prince William County Police say a man shot a gun during a road rage dispute with another driver.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A Woodbridge man is facing charges after a road rage dispute with shots fired in the Manassas area of Prince William County Sunday, police say.

The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. Sunday in the area of Dumfries Road and Counselor Road in the Woodbine neighborhood. According to police, a 52-year-old driver heading west on Dumfries Road was involved in a road rage incident with another driver, Timmy Mitchell Deane, 57, of Woodbridge. The two drivers had a physical altercation when stopped at the intersection, and police say Deane displayed a gun and fired a round. The gunfire struck a separate nearby vehicle.

A struggle for the gun ensued, leading the victim to take the gun and later turn it over to police. There were no reported injuries or other property damage reported.

Deane was charged with attempted malicious wounding, shooting from a vehicle and destruction of property. A court date is pending.
