Robbery Victim Stumbles Into Roadway

Pedestrian was fighting off robber when he stepped into the street, according to Prince William County Police.

A victim in a strong armed robbery was lucky to escape significant injury after inadvertently stepping into the roadway and bumping into a passing car, according to Prince William County Police.

At 6:33 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the 13100 block of Minnieville Road. The victim, a Woodbridge 17-year-old, told police that he was walking in the area when he was approached by an unknown subject.

The stranger demanded the victim's cell phone, leading to a fight between the two, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

"During the altercation, the victim inadvertently stepped in the roadway and bumped into a passing motorist," Perok said. "The suspect fled the area on foot."

The victim reported minor injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 16 and 20 years of age, 5’8”, 160lbs with a medium build and long black hair. He was last seen wearing no shirt, black shorts with a red stripe, black shoes and he was carrying a white shirt.
