April The Giraffe, Pregnant Again? This Is Not A Drill

No, really. Animal Adventure Park made the announcement on its Facebook page Tuesday.

HARPURSVILLE, NY — April the Giraffe, who gained national fame last year when seemingly the whole world paused to watch her give birth, might be pregnant again. Animal Adventure Park, based in Harpursville, New York, made the announcement Tuesday on Facebook.

Owner Jordan Patch said in the video that he has "pretty exciting news."

The park has been collecting poop samples from 16-year-old April for the past 30 days. Those samples were frozen and will be shipped to another zoo's lab for testing to find out whether she's pregnant with another giraffe calf.

"As you know it's quite a saga and quite a journey anytime we're expecting a giraffe calf at Animal Adventure, and let today mark day one of this journey for a possible calf in 2019." Patch said.

Last year, April was seemingly forever pregnant and became an internet sensation at the upstate New York park. She finally went into labor on live cam on the eve of Easter Sunday.

More than 1 million people watched live as the baby's feet emerged from April's behind. The calf, named Tajiri, now stands 10 feet tall.

You can watch a live stream of April on the park's official "Giraffe Cam."
