School Campuses Reopen Saturday for Weekend Events

Prince William County facilities have been closed for a week due to the blizzard that dumped more than 2 feet of snow in some areas.

All Prince William County Public Schools will reopen Saturday morning for use.

Last weekend’s blizzard left more than 2 feet of snow on school facilities.

Administrators suggest checking usual school or program web pages for the status of specific events.

Students will be off again on Monday for a previously scheduled Teacher Work Day.

School will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016.

Other announcements of note:

  • The February 1 due date for Specialty Program applications remains unchanged.
  • The end of the second grading period and associated distribution of report cards will be delayed by five days. This will affect delivery of transcripts to colleges; however, schools will be advised and likely understanding of the circumstances;
  • SOL testing windows remain unchanged at this time, pending any future decision by the Virginia Department of Education; and
  • The celebration for teacher and principal of-the-year nominees, originally set for Thursday night is postponed to February 23.
