This Saturday, Nov 8, Cub Scout Pack 501 out of Leesylvania Elementary School will be collecting food for the annual Scouting for Food campaign starting at 11AM.
The Scouts will be collecting food in the following neighborhoods:
Markhams Grant
Garfield Estates
The harbours of Newport
Newport Estates
Port Potomac
Powell’s Landing

Scouting for Food is an annual food collection orchestrated by Scouts from National Capital Area Council. Local Scouts distribute plastic bags to homes across the region and return to pick up the bags, now filled with food, one week later. Collected food is distributed to needy families throughout the communities of the Council. The donations Pack 501 collects will go to Acts Food Pantry.
