Sentara To Join Forces With Fredericksburg Medical Group
Nearly 40 medical providers will join new, larger group, company says.

The company that operates a Woodbridge hospital announced a partnership agreement this week with a medical group based in Fredericksburg.
Under the agreement between Sentara Healthcare and Pratt Medical Center, nearly 40 multi-specialty providers have joined Sentara Medical Group under the new name Sentara Pratt Medical Group, according to a Sentara statement.

Sentara Healthcare, based in Norfolk, operates Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, the largest hospital in eastern Prince William County. In all, the company runs more than 100 medical facilities in Virginia and North Carolina.
Pratt Medical Center serves about 66,000 patients at seven locations across the Fredericksburg, Stafford, King George and Dahlgren areas, the Sentara statement said.

“Sentara and Pratt share a common commitment to improving the quality of health care in their communities,” said Stephen D. Porter, corporate vice president for Sentara Healthcare, in the statement. “The more we discussed a partnership, the more our natural fit became apparent, with both cultures focused on quality, innovation and a commitment to placing the patient at the center of all we do.”
