Shakespeare in the 'Burg Theatre Festival, March 27-29, 2015

Shakespeare in the ‘Burg Theatre Festival will be held March 27-29, 2015, in Middleburg, VA. The centerpiece of the weekend are performances of HAMLET (Saturday, March 28, 7:30 p.m.) and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Sunday, March 29, 2:00 p.m.), by the American Shakespeare Center. The weekend kicks off on March 27 at 6:00 p.m. with a Friday movie night, with wine, hors d’oeuvres and a showing of WEST SIDE STORY. On Saturday, March 28, an elegant, gourmet lunch by The Home Farm Store will be served, followed by live music and a performance of the winning play from our one-act playwriting competition. Sunday’s performance of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING will be followed by a “talk-back” with the actors. Workshops in stagecraft and acting will be held on Sunday morning and are taught by the acting company from the ASC.

Venues: Middleburg Community Center, 300 W. Washington, Street, for HAMLET and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING; The Hill School’s Shelia Johnson Center for the Performing Arts, 130 S. Madison Street, for Kick Off Movie Night; Saturday lunch, live music and one-act play, the Middleburg Community Center. Workshop venues to be announced.

Tickets: $40 for HAMLET and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING; $25 for MOVIE NIGHT and Saturday Lunch Event. Workshops: $15 adults/$10 students.
