Shooting Between Vehicles Prompts Police Investigation In Lake Ridge

Prince William County Police responded to a shooting, assault with a machete-style knife and more incidents over the weekend.

LAKE RIDGE, VA — A shooting between vehicles in Lake Ridge was one of the incidents Prince William County Police responded to in the Woodbridge area over the weekend.

Around 7:27 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the shooting in the 12700 block of Dulcinea Place. Police believe two groups in vehicles exchanged gunfire. Responding officers found three unoccupied vehicles struck by gunfire and shell casings on the ground.

Police did not initially find the involved groups but were informed about a 19-year-old man being treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at the hospital. The man did not cooperate with detectives.

There were no other injuries or property damage reported. The involved vehicles were described as a gold minivan and silver sedan.

Aggravated Assault: On August 17 at 3:03PM, officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred in the area of Daniel Stuart Sq. and Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning at approximately 2:30AM. The investigation revealed the victim, a 65-year-old man, and an unknown man were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the man got out of a vehicle while brandishing a machete-style knife and struck the victim in the arm with the knife before leaving the area. The victim went to an area hospital later where police were contacted. The suspect was only described as a male with short hair driving a light blue Chevy sports car.

Residential Burglary: On August 17 at 6:27PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Minnieville Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between August 7 and August 16, forced entry was made into the home through a window that was found damaged. Professional dolls were reported missing and spray paint was used in several areas of the home.

Commercial Burglary: On August 17 at 12:30PM, officers responded to The Woods at Victoria Park located in the 16800 block of Flotilla Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between 5:30PM on August 16 and 12:00PM on August 17, forced entry was made into a maintenance room through a window. No property was reported missing.
