Police: Carjacking Linked to McDonald's Shooting

Suspect is still on the loose, considered armed and dangerous, according to Prince William County Police.

The suspect in a Monday evening shooting at a Dale City McDonald’s carjacked a second victim later in the night following a brief police pursuit. His location was not known as of 10 p.m. and he is considered armed and dangerous. Prince William County Police have dispatched K-9 units and a helicopter to assist in the search.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35 years of age, 5’9”, 160lbs with a medium build and tattoos on his arms. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.

Officers responded to the McDonald’s at 2891 Dale Boulevard to investigate the shooting. The victim, 23, was shot in the face following an altercation in the parking lot, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

The victim sustained a superficial, non-life-threatening injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to Perok.

A search began for the suspect’s vehicle, which was located by an officer on Neabsco Mills Road. After he was spotted by police, the suspect pulled into the Freedom High School parking lot and fled on foot, according to police.

After reaching the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Neabsco Mills Road, the suspect reportedly carjacked a second victim. The person contacted police once the suspect got out of the car, in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Delaward Drive. The second victim was not injured.

“An extensive search is currently underway in this area for the suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous,” Perok said.
