Shoplifter Bites Employee at Potomac Mills Store: Police

Suspect bit an employee on the arm during altercation at J.C. Penney store at Potomac Mills, according to Prince William County Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman suspected of biting a store employee and then fleeing after he detained her on suspicion of shoplifting has been arrested, according to Prince William County police.

Shakeria Nicole Reid, 35, of Woodbridge, was charged July 25 with malicious wounding and petit larceny.

Per the original report on July 19, a 36-year-old man working as a "loss prevention specialist" at the J.C. Penney Potomac Mills mall outlet told police he was attempting to take the suspect into custody for stealing when she bit him on his arm.

A police K-9 unit unsuccessfully searched for the suspect but an arrest warrant was issued.

The man who allegedly was bitten apparently is OK, although the bite did cause a laceration.
