Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Dumfries Man: Police

A car crashed through a telephone pole, and rolled down a ravine before stopping in a creek bed. The Dumfries driver died in the crash.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A driver from Dumfries died on Wednesday after crashing his car in Triangle, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Authorities identified the deceased driver as 58-year-old Kenneth Jacobs. Jacobs was the only person involved in the crash, according to investigators.

The crash occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday on Graham Park Road near Woodland Tree Drive. Authorities said Jacobs was driving his 2009 Ford Fusion at a high speed when he lost control in a turn.

The car left the road, traveled through a lawn, hit a telephone pole, rolled down a ravine, hit a concrete tunnel, and finally stopped in a creek, according to the police report.

Jacobs was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators believe he was not wearing a seatbelt.
