Strangler Sought In Manassas: Police

MANASSAS, VA — Authorities are looking for a man who allegedly strangled a female acquaintance Wednesday night in the 8800 block of Middleburg Court, according to Prince William County Police. Jameur Ryan Smith, 34, of the 7500 block of Gales Court in Manassas, is described as black, 6-0, 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He's wanted for strangulation.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police responded to the scene for a reported assault. The victim, 27, said she and Smith were involved in an argument that turned violent. She said that, at one point, Smith got on top of her and began to choke her. She eventually freed herself, and Smith fled. (For more local news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts.
