Suspected Gang Members Beat Man With Baseball Bat: Police

Suspected gang members left a man hospitalized after beating him with a baseball bat Saturday in Woodbridge: Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Suspected gang members left a man hospitalized after beating him with a baseball bat Saturday night in the 13900 block of Matthews Drive, according to Prince William County Police. The victim, 27, said the men yelled gang affiliations while attacking him.

Around 7:30 a.m., police went to the scene for a reported assault. The victim said he was walking to his residence when he was confronted by several people. One of them grabbed him and forced him inside and then down into the basement, where they proceeded to beat him. They then took his cell phone, an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening. Police say the incident was not random, and that an investigation is underway.
