Teen Charged With Carjacking 90-Year-Old Woman: Police
A 15-year-old boy from Maryland faces several charges in connection with the carjacking of a 90-year-old woman in Woodbridge in April.

WOODBRIGDE, VA — A 15-year-old boy from Maryland was arrested and charged in connection with the assault and carjacking of a 90-year-old woman in Woodbridge in April, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities said they identified the teen during "an extensive investigation into several burglaries."
The carjacking was reported to police just after noon on April 21, 2021. A victim, a 90-year-old woman, told officers that she was pumping gas at the Sunoco on Annapolis Way in Woodbridge when four people approached her.
"One of the suspects demanded the victim’s keys and her purse before pushing her to the ground," the police department wrote in their report. "The four suspects then fled the area in the vehicle."

The victim reported the incident to a gas station employee who called the police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries, according to authorities.
The victim lost her 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV, her purse, and her wallet. Authorities did not say whether the victim's belongings were recovered.

On June 30, the 15-year-old boy from Maryland was charged in connection with the carjacking. He faces one count of carjacking, one count of robbery, and one count of assault by mob. The boy, who is from Waldorf, was not identified by name since he is a child.
The teen's court date is pending and he is currently incarcerated.
During an associated investigation, the police department also identified a suspect in connection with a pair of burglaries that occurred in Prince William County on May 14. In both burglaries, a rock was thrown through a glass front door and a cash register was stolen, police said.
The suspect, Kevin Valle of Maryland, was arrested in Loudoun County in May. He is charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of conspiracy to commit grand larceny, among other crimes.
