Two Displaced by Dale City House Fire

Single-family home declared total loss, says Prince William fire department.

A fire destroyed a single-family home Sunday evening in Dale City, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue.

There were no occupants at home during the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, the fire department said. Two adults were displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross was called Sunday to assist them.

Firefighting units responded at about 5 p.m. to the home in the 5000 block of Lynnwood Drive, the fire department said. Upon arrival, they found the second floor on fire, with flames coming through the roof at the rear of the home.

The firefighters quickly knocked down and extinguished the blaze. The fire and rescue crews that responded included units from the Prince William fire department and volunteer firefighters from Dale City, Dumfries-Triangle and the Occoquan, Woodbridge and Lorton (OWL) department.

The Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire and has ruled the home a total loss, the Prince William fire department said.
