Update: Two Vehicles Hit Pedestrian In Quantico On Monday: Police
Authorities said two vehicles hit a 36-year-old pedestrian in Quantico on Monday morning. The second driver did not stop, police said.
QUANTICO, VA — Two different vehicles hit a pedestrian in Quantico on Monday morning, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The driver of the second vehicle did not stop after hitting the man.
Police identified the pedestrian as a 36-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not identified him by name as they work to notify his family.
The crashes occurred around 6 a.m. on Monday morning on Route 1 near Russell Road. Multiple callers had contacted authorities to tell them about a man walking in the road, according to the police report.

When officers arrived in the area, they learned that the man had already been hit by a car. Investigators said the man was walking north in the southbound lanes when a 2010 BMW 5 Series hit him. The driver of the BMW, a 17-year-old girl, stayed at the scene.
As the pedestrian laid in the road, another vehicle hit him, police said. Authorities do not know if the second driver was aware that they ran over a man. The second driver did not stop, police said.

Rescue personnel pronounced the man dead when they arrived. The police department said he was wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk when the vehicles hit him.
Authorities are still looking to speak with the second driver. Anyone who was driving in the area just before 6 a.m. on Monday and may have witnessed the crash can contact the police department at 703-792-7000.
