Virginia Lottery Winner: Dumfries Woman Nets $250,000

A Dumfries woman won $250,000 with a Virginia Lottery scratch-off ticket. Her odds of winning were 1 in 1,040,400.

DUMFRIES, VA — As a waitress, Regina Wilner of Dumfries works both for a paycheck and for tips. With said tips, she will buy a Virginia lottery scratch-off ticket here and there just for kicks. Well, how's this for a tip? Try $250,000.

She accepted her winnings this week for one of the top prizes in the "Double Playticket" game. When scratching off the ticket, she had an idea of what was to come. As she told lottery officials, she said, "Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?"
