TRIANGLE, VA—As Friday nights go, the one Ray McFadden experienced recently was of the ho-hum variety—except for one not-so-little thing. He bought a winning scratch-off ticket in the Virginia Lottery's 10x the Money game and became $100,000 richer.

"I'm still in shock," he told lottery officials. The Triangle resident bought the ticket at the Food Lion on Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries. His odds of winning were 1 in 1,049,143.
