Weather Causes Schedule Change For Prince William Schools On Thursday

The Prince William County School system announced a schedule change for Thursday, Dec. 15 due to predicted inclement weather.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County Schools will be closed on Thursday due predicted inclement weather. It will be a Code Orange day.

Students do not report to classes on Code Orange days. Staff and school members are expected to work remotely and asynchronous. Most teachers will still offer office hours for students who have questions.

"The weather forecast for Thursday would typically call for a two-hour delay, but due to double bus runs and staffing shortages, as well as uncertainty in temperatures that may cause icy conditions in parts of the county, we are unable to operate safely on a delay," the Prince William County School system said. "Therefore, a Code Orange has been issued for tomorrow. Thank you for understanding as we seek to be open whenever possible."
