WOODBRIDGE, VA — The unofficial start of summer kicks off with Memorial Day weekend. In Woodbridge and the rest of Prince William County, government facilities and offices will close.

The long holiday weekend is a time families reflect on American military servicemembers who died in the line of duty. It is also a time to enjoy summer festivities like beach trips, barbecues and more.

• Prince William County government offices: Closed on May 27.
• State courts: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed May 27.
• Prince William County Public Schools: Schools and offices are closed on May 27.
• Department of Motor Vehicles: The Virginia DMV offices are closed on May 27.
• Library: Prince William County library locations are closed May 25 to 27.
• Office of Elections: Closed on May 27.
