What's Open, Closed For Presidents Day 2024 In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Presidents Day, also known as George Washington's Birthday, will provide a three-day weekend for many employees and students, and this year the holiday falls on Monday, Feb. 19.

While many services will be closed for the holiday, residents can get out and enjoy several observances to celebrate the first president. George Washington's Mount Vernon will free admission on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19, and Thursday, Feb. 22. Tickets will be limited and distributed on site. Other Presidents Day weekend events will be the George Washington Birthday Parade in Alexandria and George Washington's Birthday Celebration at his boyhood home, Ferry Farm in Fredericksburg.

The federal holiday will prompt closures of government offices, schools and other services on Feb. 20, while other services like transit may have schedule changes. Here are the openings and closings to know in Woodbridge.

Prince William County government offices: Closed on Monday, Feb. 19.

Prince William County Public Schools: Closed on Feb. 19.

Courts: The Prince William County General District Court, Circuit Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will be closed on Feb. 19.

Department of Motor Vehicles: Virginia DMV locations will be closed on Feb. 19.

Libraries: All Prince William County Library branch buildings are open on Feb. 19.

OmniRide: There will be no OmniRide Express service on Feb. 19. Metro Express, Local and East-West Express routes will operate regular service. For more information, call Customer Service at 703-730-6664.

Post offices: Closed on Feb. 19.

Trash and recycling center: The Prince William County Landfill and Balls Ford Road Compost Facility will be open on Feb. 19.

Virginia Railway Express: There will be no VRE service on Feb. 19. Regular service resumes on Feb. 20.
