What's Open, Closed In Prince William County On Christmas 2021
Some facilities in Prince William County will close on Dec. 23 and remain closed through the Christmas weekend.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — With Christmas approaching and concerns about the growing number of new COVID-19 cases growing, families are tasked with modifying holiday plans to limit the chances of spreading the illness. One thing that remains the same is the closure or modification of many services in Prince William County for the holiday.
Below are the openings and closings to know for Christmas around Prince William County. All offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 23; Friday, Dec. 24; and Saturday, Dec. 25.
- Prince William County government offices: Closed beginning on Thursday, Dec. 23. They will reopen on Monday, Dec. 27.
- Prince William County Schools: Students and staff members are on Winter Break. They are scheduled to return on Monday, Jan. 3.
- Prince William County Animal Shelter: Open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26.
- Prince William County Libraries: Closed on Dec. 23, 24, 25, and 26.
- Prince William County landfill: Open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Closed on Christmas Day.
- Prince William County courts: Closed on Dec. 23 and Dec. 24. The clerk's office will reopen on Dec. 27.
- Metro: Metrorail operates on a weekday schedule and Metrobus operates on a Saturday schedule on Dec. 24. Metrorail and Metrobus will run on a Sunday schedule on Dec. 25. Visit www.wmata.com/schedules/timetables for more information.
- Post offices: Some locations may have limited or extended hours on Dec. 24. Check with your local post office. All post offices are closed on Dec. 25.
- Virginia DMV: All DMV customer service centers will be closed Dec. 23 to 25.
- OmniRide: The bus system will not operate on Saturday, Dec. 25.
