Woman Assaults Acquaintance, Cop in Woodbridge: Police

After being arrested for strangling a woman in a domestic dispute, according to Prince William County Police, she struck an officer.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman strangled a female acquaintance during a domestic argument Wednesday night and then hit a responding officer in the 2800 block of Bowes Lane, according to Prince William County Police.

Casey Marie Moriggi, 24, of the aforementioned address, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, strangulation, domestic assault and battery and obstruction of justice.

She's being held without bond.

Shortly before 6:30, police responded to the scene where the 22-year-old victim said she and Moriggi were involved in an argument that turned violent as she was thrown to the ground and choked.

When Moriggi was arrested and placed in the rear of a patrol car, she hit an officer in the hand.
