WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman stabbed two people on Friday morning in Woodbridge, the Prince William County Police Department said. Authorities have not been able to locate the suspect.

The victims, a 35-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, suffered stab wounds to their upper bodys. A helicopter flew the victims to an area hospital, and authorities expect them to survive.

Investigators identified the suspect as 35-year-old Khadija Ayesha Campbell of Woodbridge. She is charged with two counts of malicious wounding.

Authorities described Campbell as a Black woman who is five feet, five inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. She has short curly black hair and brown eyes.

If convicted of both charges, Campbell could face up to 40 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

The stabbing occurred around 4 a.m. on Friday at the Summerland Heights Apartments in Woodbridge. Investigators believe Campbell had an argument with the female victim that escalated.

When the male victim tried to intervene, Campbell stabbed both of them in the upper body, the police department reported. She then left the apartment.

Police officers arrived on scene and provided first aid until the victims could be transported to the hospital. A police helicopter and K-9 units searched for Campbell, but they could not find her.
