Woman Terrorized in Woodbridge: Police

A woman was strangled and then threatened with a gun Wednesday by an acquaintance in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA โ€” A woman was strangled and then threatened with a gun Wednesday by an acquaintance in the 7000 block of Lakota Drive, according to Prince William County Police. That led to the arrest of Cristian Alexander Pleitez-Cortez, 25, of the 13200 block of Nassau Drive, who was charged with strangulation, brandishing a firearm, assault and batter and destruction of property.

Shortly after 3 p.m., police responded to the scene for a report of an assault involving weapons. The victim, 31, said she and Pleitez-Cortez were involved in an argument that turned violent. He allegedly grabbed her by the neck, pointed a gun at her and broke things in the home, including the victim's cell phone.
