Woodbridge Man Accused Of Assaulting Prince William County Cop

Prince William County police said a man assaulted an officer Saturday at a home in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge man is facing charges after authorities said he assaulted a Prince William County police officer during a dispute on Saturday.

According to police, officers responded to a home in the 3200 block of Birchdale Square in Woodbridge around 10:45 p.m. to investigate a call about a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived, they learned that one of the people involved in the dispute — identified as 48-year-old Terrence Lamar Swain — was wanted by police.

When officers attempted to arrest Swain, a struggle ensued, and police said Swain assaulted one of the officers.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

Swain was eventually taken into custody and charged with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, assault and battery, and violation of a protection order.
