Woodbridge Man Found Asleep At Wheel Cited For DUI
Stafford County sheriff's deputies arrested a Woodbridge man they say was asleep at the wheel of his disabled vehicle Thursday night.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 45-year-old Woodbridge man who was found asleep at the wheel of a disabled vehicle in Stafford County on Thursday night was cited for driving under the influence, according to authorities.
A Stafford County sheriff's deputies responded around 8:15 p.m. to the area of McWhirt Loop and Warrenton Road, which is located west of Interstate 95 to investigate the report of a disabled vehicle in the turn lane causing a hazard. When one of the deputies approached the vehicle, they saw a man in the driver's seat who seemed to be asleep.
"After taking precautionary measures to box in the vehicle, deputies attempted to wake the driver," according to the incident report. "After multiple attempts the driver did wake up. The driver was displaying signs of intoxication to include slurred speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. The subject refused to submit to field sobriety tests and also refused to provide a breath sample."

The deputies charged the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Leonard Rouse of Woodbridge, with driving under the influence, stopping on a highway, and refusal to submit to a breath test, according to the report. He was given an unsecured bond.
