Woodbridge Man Charged With Malicious Wounding

A Woodbridge man has been charged with malicious wounding after Prince William County police responded to an alleged assault Sunday night in a basement apartment.

At 10:55 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Mary Street in Woodbridge for a disturbance between two people, according to a police report. They found that the victim, a 31-year-old female, had been assaulted by Stanley Joshua Cox, of 12920 Occoquan Road #13, resulting in significant injuries.

The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment of her injuries, police said. The victim and suspect were known to each other.

Cox was arrested on Monday and charged with one count of malicious wounding and one count of threats to burn, police said. His next court date and bond information were not available.
