The police learned that Zelaya Bustillo knew the two victims in the car, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. "The incident appeared to stem from a previous altercation involving the male victim and the accused," the police said Friday in an incident report. Neither person in the car was injured.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Zelaya Bustillo. On Thursday afternoon, the police saw him near his home. He then fled in a vehicle.
