A Woodbridge man with a sword was charged with malicious wounding and burglary after trying to enter an apartment, according to police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge man with a sword was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and burglary after trying to enter an apartment on Wood Hollow Drive Monday morning, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
At about 6:15 a.m. Monday, Sean Patrick Gentry, 42, allegedly attempted to force his way into a 30-year-old woman's apartment in Woodbridge. Gentry, who was armed with a sword, allegedly cut the woman on her hand. But the victim was able to keep the man from entering her home.
When Prince William County police arrived, Gentry still had the sword in his hand. "The accused was challenged by officers and complied before being detained without further incident," the police said Monday in an incident report.
