Woodbridge Restaurant Inspections: Infestation Of Roaches And Ants
The health department recorded violations at restaurants and schools around the Woodbridge area during recent inspections.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — Inspectors recorded violations at several facilities around Woodbridge during health inspections between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20.
Most COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed around the state, and health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant and other health inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection. Other violations are addressed later, and an inspector may conduct a follow-up inspection to ensure compliance.

- The waste lines from the 2 compartment prep sink and the 3 compartment warewashing sink in the kitchen are directly connected into the sewage system.
- The ventilation hood system is in disrepair with a hole in the shielding on the ceiling.

- Total violations: 9
- There was no verifiable employee health policy was not available at the time of the inspection.
- There was no procedure/bodily fluid kit available during the inspection to show how to clean vomit and diarrhea.
- There was raw beef in the walk in cooler that was over, raw rte veggies, pastries and on containers of dough.
- The dough mixer was covered in dried encrusted dough.
- There was no date marking system in place/there were several items that were prepped the day before and is being planned to be used after 24 hours.
- There were several chemicals on shelf above foods.
- There were several container of unlabeled foods in the dry storage area.
- There was a visible infestation of roaches and ants around the hand sink and in dry storage area near the stand mixer.
- There was a refrigerator and red reach in cooler that were not properly working
