Woodbridge Robbery Suspect Arrested In Newport News: Police

Newport News Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a robbery that occurred in Woodbridge on Feb. 25.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Newport News Police Department officers arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a robbery that occurred in Woodbridge on Feb. 25. The suspect, David Clarke Tucker Jr., 26, of Portsmouth, will remain in Newport News until he is tranported to Prince William County, the Prince William County Police Department said Thursday.

At 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, Prince William County police officers responded to the 14100 block of Carmody Place in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, reported to police that she was approached by an unknown man as she exited her vehicle in the area.

During the encounter, Tucker allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded her property. He took the victim's fanny pack containing personal items before fleeing in a light colored four-door sedan, the police said. No injuries were reported.

Tucker has been charged with robbery, credit card theft and credit card fraud. The booking photo of Tucker provided by the Prince William County police is from last October.
