Woodbridge Shooting Suspect Identified, Wanted By Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A suspect has been identified in a shooting that occurred on Florida Avenue in Woodbridge last month. Zeven Raamel Deyo is wanted in connection with the shooting, the Prince William County Police Department announced on Monday.

The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Florida Avenue around 6 p.m. on Aug. 26. The incident began as the victim was driving on Maryland Avenue, according to authorities.

The victim, who police identified as a 19-year-old man, reported seeing a man in the roadway walking towards him. When the victim began to drive away, the man pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, the police department said.

The victim's vehicle was struck by multiple shots before he was able to flee the area. The victim was not shot, but he suffered injuries from the shattered glass of the vehicle, police said. He drove himself to the hospital for treatment.

At the time of the shooting, the police department said the shooting was not a random incident.

On Monday, Sept. 6, authorities announced that they had identified Deyo as a suspect in the shooting. They obtained warrants for his arrest, but were unable to locate him.

Deyo is 19 years old and lives in 1300 block of Indiana Avenue in Woodbridge. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds, police said.

Deyo is charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and shooting in a public place.
