Woodbridge Teenager Killed In Drug Deal By 16-Year-Old: Police

A Woodbridge teenager was shot and killed Wednesday evening as he was trying to sell marijuana to another teenager, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge teenager was shot and killed Wednesday evening as he was trying to sell marijuana to another teenager in Woodbridge, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The police caught the other teenager —the alleged shooter —Thursday morning and charged him with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

At around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Prince William County police officers went to the 1600 block of Florida Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting. The police learned that during an arranged marijuana sale, the two 16-years-olds struggled and the seller was shot. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Prince William County police detectives with the department's homicide unit identified the suspect and obtained a detention order for his arrest. Early Thursday morning, the suspect was located at his residence in Woodbridge where he was detained. Following the investigation, the suspect was arrested.

The suspect's name is not being released by the police because he is a juvenile. He is being held at the Prince William County Juvenile Detention Center.
