Woodbridge, VA Resident, Ms. Alicia Torres-Ferrer, Recognized for Thirty-Five Years of Federal Service

Ms. Alicia Torres-Ferrer recognized by the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies for thirty-five years of Federal Service

Washington, DC, (14 June 2016) – The William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies has honored one of its employees, Ms. Alicia Torres-Ferrer, a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia, with a Time in Service Award recognizing her thirty five years of Federal Service.

Ms. Torres-Ferrer entered Federal Service in 1981 as part of the National Puerto Rico Forum. She has served in the Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Agriculture. In 1997, Ms. Torres-Ferrer began working at the Perry Center as one of the Center’s first staffers and has since provided excellent administrative support to its faculty, staff, and academic programs. “I enjoy my work at the Perry Center,” explained Ms. Torres-Ferrer. “Through it, I feel that I can contribute to DoD’s efforts to protect the nation.”

Ms. Torres-Ferrer received a certificate and pin to acknowledge her service and continuing commitment to the Department of Defense and United States Government. “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to recognize a Perry Center employee for such a longer period of Federal Service,” said Mark Wilkins, Director of the Perry Center. “Only through the work of dedicated employees, such as Ms. Torres, are we are able to meet our organizational mission requirements.”
