Wrong-Way Crash Kills Driver In Prince William County, Police Say
Police said a driver was killed in an early-morning crash after traveling the wrong way on Prince William Parkway.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man was killed early Friday after driving a car the wrong way on a Prince William County road and crashing into a concrete barrier and a parked work truck, police said.
According to authorities, officers responded to the area of Prince William Parkway and Quartz Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday to investigate a report of a crash.
Police said the 26-year-old driver of a 2012 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Prince William Parkway near Minnieville Road when he drove through a red light and continued west in the eastbound lanes.

The vehicle then crossed the eastbound lanes before striking a concrete barrier and an unoccupied 2022 Ford F-250 equipped with a rear truck-mounted attenuator, police said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released his identity pending notification of family.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.
