1 Injured As Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Apartment Fire Near Kent
Crews from multiple fire departments were called to the blaze along Kent Des Moines Road Friday morning.

KENT, WA — At least one person was injured during a large fire at an apartment complex near Kent Friday morning. Firefighters from several departments were called to assist in a two-alarm response, along the 4800 block of Kent Des Moines Road, shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. Puget Sound Fire said the flames were on the fourth floor of the structure. Information on how many units were involved in the fire was not immediately available. According to Puget Sound Fire, the fire was extinguished shortly before 10:15 a.m.
Fire investigators announced Friday afternoon that that building could not be occupied, displacing residents from 90 total units. Red Cross is helping those affected find a place to stay.
The number of units and length of time they will be impacted is still unknown. We are now working to identify a Red Cross emergency shelter location to house and care for the families impacted by this fire. @PugetSoundFire
