2 Bellevue Teens Die In Cascades Avalanche

The two teens were in the backcountry near Snoqualmie Pass, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA - Two teenagers who went snowshoeing in the Cascades over the weekend were found dead Monday, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. The teens, ages 17 and 18, were snowshoeing in a back-country area near the Summit at Snoqualmie Pass ski area.

The teens were supposed to return from their trek on Sunday. They died the same weekend that five snowmobilers were involved in an avalanche farther east near the Crystal Springs Sno-Park. One man, a 32-year-old form Issaquah, died in that avalanche.

The King County Sheriff's Office identified the teens as from Bellevue, but their names have not been released. The man from Issaquah has also not been identified.
