After 13 Cat Killings, Dog Mutilated In Thurston County

OLYMPIA, WA - After more than a dozen cats were found mutilated in the Olympia area, authorities are investigating the mutilation of a dog. The dog was found over the weekend along the Nisqually River skinned and with its tail cut off, according to reports.
A Thurston County Sheriff's detective is investigating the death, according to KOMO News, but police have not connected the case to recent cat mutilations. The dog was found at a fishing spot on Friday evening.
Since February, 13 cats have been found dead in Thurston County. The killer mutilated their bodies, but none were found skinned.

Olympia police and the Thurston County Sheriff's Office have formed a task force to catch the cat killer. The day the group met for the first time, Aug. 31, the thirteenth cat was found dead.
Groups including Peace 4 Animals, the Seattle Humane Society, PETA, and the Human Society of the United States have put money toward a $53,000 reward for information about the cat killer.
