Arrests Made In Weekend Yakama Nation Murders That Left Five Dead
A final suspect was apprehended Monday in connection with a crime spree on the Central Washington Nation that left five people dead.
YAKAMA NATION, WA - Five people are dead and four in police custody following a series of shootings that took place Saturday on Yakama Nation in Central Washington. The murders happened in multiple locations near White Swan, south of the city of Yakima.
Police apprehended a final suspect wanted in connection with the killings on Monday, Yakama Nation officials said in a statement posted to Facebook. James Cloud, 35, was taken into custody after a 911 caller reported early Monday morning that a vehicle was in a ditch upside down near the intersection of Progressive Road and Campbell Road, and a man was walking outside their home and yelling.
Cloud was located and arrested with the assistance of K-9 police dog following a brief altercation with law enforcement. He was treated for minor injuries and booked into the Yakima County Jail on an outstanding federal warrant for aggravated assault.

Law enforcement also apprehended three additional suspects in connection with the homicides, but police have not yet released their identities.
Saturday's crime spree took place in three separate locations, investigators said. Four of the victims were killed near the 5100 block of Medicine Valley Rd., located near White Swan. Police found a fifth victim dead in a vehicle in the 3400 block of Evans Road. An armed robbery of a vehicle also occurred nearby, but police reported no injuries.

Two adults also sustained injuries and were found with the victim on Evans Road. All victims were adults, though their names have not been released. The FBI, Yakama Tribal Police and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
"Yakama Nation would like to thank all the law enforcement agencies that were involved in the capture of this and all other suspects in these crimes," Yakama Nation officials said in a statement. "We would also like to thank the community for communicating with law enforcement and sharing information in order to keep our community safe."
