Baby Raccoons Rescued From DUI Crash
Some good news this Friday: these two adorable raccoons were rescued and are being cared for by state police.
SHELTON, WA - Why was this woman driving drunk with two baby raccoons in her truck? We may never know. But we do know that the raccoons (the woman) are safe.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office responded to this DUI crash Friday morning along Kamilche Point Road near Shelton. The driver only suffered minor injuries, and she was arrested for driving under the influence.
The raccoons were turned over to county wildlife officers, but they've found a new home: state troopers at the Washington State Patrol bureau in Bremerton took custody of the critters. As you can see, they are being well cared for.

Although raccoons - at least baby ones - are adorable, don't think about getting one. You can't have a raccoon as a pet in Washington without a permit. A Thurston County judge in January ruled that a family who rescued a baby raccoon after its mother died could not keep the animal.
