Brother Arrested In Kenmore Woman's Murder
King County detectives have arrested David Haggard in the 2016 killing of his 27-year-old half-sister Jamie.

KENMORE, WA -- Detectives with the King County Sheriff's Office arrested the half-brother of a Kenmore woman who disappeared from her home three years ago. 27-year-old Jamie Haggard vanished on June 9, 2016, and was reported missing by her father. According to detectives, during the investigation, several people told them Jamie had a bad relationship with her half-brother, 42-year-old David Haggard, and Jamie's boyfriend told investigators she had worried her David would kill her.
In the years since the disappearance, Major Crimes detectives dug up yard two times but were unable to find any sign of Jamie. In May of 2018, investigators found partially burnt, dismembered remains in a suitcase on the side of the road in Snohomish County. The remains were eventually identified as Jamie Haggard's.
According to the King County Sheriff's Office, David Haggard was already in jail on an unrelated arson charge that is pending trial. On Tuesday, prosecutors filed second-degree murder charges, and bail was set at $2 million. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for November 7th.
