Cat Serial Killer Strikes Again In Thurston County

Another cat was found mutilated in Thurston County, believed to be a victim of a cat serial killer on the loose.

OLYMPIA, WA - An eighth cat was found mutilated in the Olympia area on Wednesday, according to reports. Authorities believe the feline was killed by a cat serial killer on the loose in the area.

The latest victim was found in the same area as the other cats, and mutilated in a similar fashion. The cat likely died sometime over the last two days, KIRO 7 reported.

Over the last week, the groups PETA and The Human Society have contributed to a reward for the capture of the serial killer. The reward is now up to $20,000. The fund was started by Pasado's Safe Haven, a rescue shelter in Monroe.

The killer has left the bodies of the animals in public places. In July, a cat was found cut in half at Port Angeles playground. The other seven have been found in Tumwater, Lacey, and Olympia, according to Thurston County's Joint Animal Services.

In one of the most recent killings, a 20-year-old deaf tabby, Harley, was found cut open and on display on a lawn in Olympia. The cat was partially feral, according to Q13, but a woman had been taking care of him.
