Chinese National Dies At Deception Falls Near Stevens Pass
The 50-year-old man was in the U.S. on a work visa. He was visiting Deception Falls with his family and a church group.

SKYKOMISH, WA - A 50-year-old man from China died Tuesday at Deception Falls near Stevens Pass, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. The man was visiting the falls along the Skykomish River with his family and a church group.
The man, who was in the U.S. on a work visa, arrived at the falls just before 1 p.m. He left from the larger group to take a look at the falls, but never came back. When his family went to investigate, they saw his jacket and hat snagged on a branch about 100 yards downstream from the falls.
King County rescue crews searched for him until dark on Tuesday, but didn't locate his body until about 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sgt. Ryan Abbott said in a press release the man's death appears to have been a "tragic accident."
