A whale was trapped in fishing gear 15 miles off the coast.

LA PUSH, WA - Coast Guard and National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration crews were attempting to rescue a humpback whale that was entangled in lines of fishing gear. The whale was located 15 miles of the coast of La Push. Coast Guard officials said it was identified as a juvenile gray whale.
Although crews went out Tuesday afternoon, they were not successful in untangling the whale. Operations were eventually halted due to loss of daylight.
