Crystal Mountain Open For Skiing Wednesday

The resort will open three lifts beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

GREENWATER, WA - Crystal Mountain will open three ski lifts Wednesday morning after recent storms dumped snow across the Cascades. Three lifts - Discovery, Chinook Express, and Forest Queen Express - open at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Lifts to higher slopes won't open tomorrow because high winds have blown too much snow off the upper ridges. The resort estimates it will open the Rainier Express, Green Valley, and Mt. Rainer Gondola lifts by Friday.

Other popular ski spots in Western Washington have not opened yet. The Mt. Baker ski area might open Thursday, and no lifts at Steven's Pass are open. There are no lifts open at Alpental near Snoqualmie Pass as of Tuesday.
