Pierce County deputies shot and killed a suspect Tuesday morning after he left the scene of a shooting, crashed into a car, and rolled his vehicle. According to investigators, deputies were called to an Eatonville home, on the 5200 block of 390th Street Court East, after a resident fired shots during a confrontation with a man in a suspicious vehicle.

The News Tribune reports the resident fired warning shots into the ground after finding an unfamiliar truck in their driveway around 12:30 a.m. Deputies learned the suspect left the house and later crashed into a car driving on Mountain Highway East. When they arrived at the crash scene, deputies said the suspect was uncooperative, and shots were fired. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The people in the car the man hit were treated for minor injuries. Three deputies involved in the shooting were placed on paid administrative leave, per standard procedure. Further details on what led to the shooting were not immediately released. The Tacoma Police Department will complete an investigation into the incident.
