SEATTLE, WA — After a day that brought heavy rains to many areas, thunder and hail to others, and snow in the mountains, the weather is set to dry out — but it's going to be a chilly few days. The National Weather Service says dry and cool conditions will return on Wednesday, then gradually start warming up through Friday.

Snow levels on Tuesday dropped to 3,000 feet, prompting a Winter Weather Advisory over the mountain passes. NWS said some areas of Stevens Pass may have seen up to 10 inches of snow, but largely stayed closer to the 2 to 3 inches range. Snoqualmie saw somewhere between 2 and 4 inches of accumulation over the afternoon.

Although things should be dry the next several days, forecasters say temperatures will be cooler across the region, with highs in the low 50s for most in the lowlands and overnight lows hovering above the freezing mark.

By Friday, most of us should reach the low 60s and there is a chance wet weather will return for the weekend. Early NWS projections for next week are tracking a potential atmospheric river that could hit by Tuesday.
