Fatal Wrong-Way Crash On Southbound I-5
The crash happened near 4:30 p.m. and caused the closure of all southbound lanes of I-5.

MARYSVILLE, WA - A drunk driver who apparently went the wrong way along I-5 in Snohomish County caused four separate crashes Sunday afternoon, including one that left a person dead.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes. The driver apparently got on I-5 near 116th Street Northeast, which is just north of the Tulalip Casino. The driver was arrested at the scene of one of the crashes for vehicular homicide and DUI, according to Washington State Patrol.
Wrong way fatality update 2 of 2: South bound I-5 just north of HWY 530 remains closed during the investigation. Traffic is being detoured to HWY 530. Unknown ETA for I-5 to open back up yet. Please be patient while we process this tragic collision scene. TS
